Rachel Knoester- Abstract Figurative Artist

• I am an expressive figurative painter using mixed media with exaggerated color and energetic brushwork. I abstract the images of people and animals with a balance of energy and quiet intimate reality—loose marks that capture the spirit of a moment, with areas of precise detail that draw the viewer in to ponder the story.

• My work explores my deep-rooted need to bond with animals, from the family dog, stock animals, to wild birds.

• Viewers drawn to my work are contemporary art collectors who share this motivation. I am not painting a precise likeness; I am using the figures to explore the interaction that we all need as humans.

• My work encompasses acrylic paint, charcoal, ink, acrylic pen, collage, layers of texture and repeated stencil patterns.
